Atomic Bomberman can be cited as an example of an online game whose simplicity was the highest and could be experience in the field of learning but delivering great game play and multiplayer competition. The user friendly features catapulted Atomic Bomberman to the pinnacle of simplicity and this is what all other online games should aim.

Atomic Bomberman is a game by Interplay for the PC that was released in 1997 and it was the first original Bomberman game to be developed for Windows, and the second game made for the PC, following 1992's Dyna Blaster. Only three keys are used to play the games and they are arrow keys to move around, spacebar to lay bombs and to throw bombs press your spacebar twice. If you are a new player only five minutes will help you to learn the game and further as you keep on playing you will learn the tricks and acquire skills that will improve your game. It is assumed that due to such simplicity most PC users thought it to be "shareware" and never took any interest to play it probably because of its very little flashy graphics or spectacular sound. Thinking it to be the potential problems Interplay’s solution of redesigning the game with new features and artwork that was thought to enhance the game without losing its overall feel was unfortunately not fully successful.

There are several reasons behind it. Apart from the very little flashy graphics or spectacular sound which is consider as the potential problem there are other problems in addition to it. Some of the game's new features such as the hilarious death animations and a bunch of new maps are great while addition of the new icon art and the thousands and thousands of "taunts" that play every time you pick up a power-up are quiet horrible and others are just plain insoluble, like the involvement of the golden bomber feature which was thought to designed in multiplayer mode but unfortunately available in the single-player mode. But these changes do not much impact than does the poor network support.

The most important and the weakest of Atomic Bomberman is the multiplayer mode of playing. At best, play is unsteady and at worst, players get randomly kicked out. For a game that revolves around multiplayer competition unconventional problems, like adding players who are not in the game, and awarding wins to players who have not earned them, is just not acceptable. All these problems could be cited as the reliable reasons for its unpopularity.
